No; your recent docs is only a list of shortcuts. If it was stored exclusively on the USB, that is the only place you can get it from.
I have the same problem did you find out how to stop it? No, but I think that my trial just ran out, like I can't use it anymore. I didn't buy it, the software came on my laptop which I got from a friend, so I think my trial period is just over. Not really sure, I've been using Google Docs.
