Depending on how high you needed it to be lifted, I would try to unbolt the motor mounts and see if that gave enough clearance. Make sure there is enough room to do this all around the engine, like the intake, bellhousing, exhaust, etc.... just be sure you are not binding any wires or hoses and you should be able to lift with a jack from below of from above with a hoist. The only thing that holds the engine in the car is the motor mounts, bt again, check for clearance with other items before just lifting or jacking...
