Make sure it has plenty of water.
Keep it's cage clean & feed it daily.
For a cage, a cardboard box or piece of tupperware with hay or cloth on the bottom would be good. Pet rocks eat shredded paper and grass but dont feed them mountain dew or grass because they go CRAZY! They start smashing windows and shaking uncontrollably!
It has no requirements other than the ones the owner wants to pretend it needs.
You can't train your pet rock because it doesn't move and they don't have any body parts to help them move all you can do with your pet rock is that you can hit something with your pet rock.

Not unless it is a "pet rock".
Construction paper cut out to look like ferns made my pet rock feel right at home! My friends thought I was a little "out there" when I got it an aquarium, but I had realized it was a marine rock! (It had tiny little fossils embedded in it.)
Elegabalus was the emperor who had the pet rock and walked backwards

The product, Pet Rock, was very popular during the 1970's
Gary Dahl invented the Pet Rock in 1975. The Pet Rock was a fad during the 1970s and was essentially a smooth stone in a box with air holes, marketed as a low-maintenance pet alternative.
Pet Rock
Pet rocks are very hard to find. First you have to go and look for a smooth, intelligent-looking rock, then you have to go through a strict naming process. Rocky is not funny or smart, and if you name your rock Rocky, you are just telling it to run away. Yes, they do run away. So only if you want a pet that has to have extreme care, should you find a pet rock. There are also the Pet Rocks that were sold in the 1970's. They were ordinary rocks with jiggly eyes. The pet was sold in a brown paste board animal carrier with ventilation holes in the side. The rock itself was nestled into a bed of straw. They can still occasionally be found on eBay or in retro toy stores.
