It may be that your required calorie intake is less than 1200 anyway. Everybody is different when it comes to this, you need to work out what your normal daily calorie intake is and reduce it from there.

Exercise is also a good way to lose weight. Kettlebells and swimming are good ways to lose weight in the long run. These types of exercises build muscle which burns calories more efficiently even when you are resting.

Most importantly eat a healty balanced diet. Your body still needs nutrients which will be reduced or lost if you go on a diet.
