You don't. You do this.
1. Get Link on the ground and Zelda in the lava.
2. Make Link hop on Phantom Zelda's shield.
3. Draw a course for Zelda to go on the ground in front of the posts.
4. Equip your whip (yes, I just rhymed.)
5. On Zelda's shield, do the Indiana Jones-like whip thing with the wood posts.

There is an easy way to get past the Phantom besides sneaking past when Zelda is talking to him. When Zelda is talking to him, strike him in the back, then tap on him to get Zelda's spirit in there. The other Phantom will crumple to the ground, giving you all that space to run around, but I think you have more important things to do than that.
