How do you make a star of David?

The star of David is two triangles placed one within the other, one resting on it's base, the other standing on it's point. The triangles are equilateral triangles which means that all sides are equal.

To draw a Star of David, you first draw an upright triangle. Then, you draw an upside down triangle of the same size on top of it. Make sure that the three tips of both triangles are outside of the hexagon made by them.

There is no standard way to build a Shield of David (or Magen David). It is simply a hexagram, or six pointed star.

Here is one way:

1. Take six sticks, all the same length.
2. Take three of them; glue their ends together to form an equilateral triangle.
3. Take the other three; glue their ends together to form an equilateral triangle.
4. Turn one triangle so that one point points toward you. Turn the other one so that one point points away from you.
5. Lay one triangle down on top of the other. Adjust it so that everything is symmetrical and balanced. Glue the two triangles together at the six points where they meet.
6. You have a "Magen David", or 'star' of David.
