Players can smith longswords using two metal bars ranging from Bronze (the lowest) to Runite (the highest). The following Smithing levels are required to make a longsword with the corresponding metal bars.

Note: Black, white and dragon longswords cannot be player-smithed; black/white/dragon bars and ores do not exist in-game.

Metal Bars

Smithing Level Req.

x2 Bronze

6 (+25xp each)

x2 Iron

21 (+50xp each)

x2 Steel

36 (+75xp each)

x2 Mithril

Dragon, Black, White, Drygore, Vesta's and any corrupt longsword counterpart cannotbe created by players through the Smithing skill; as with most weaponry, these are unique drops from monsters; for example, Drygore weapons are a unique drop from the Kalphite King.

impossible

you cannot make a master sword since there is only one in existence

however you can take it from the temple of time

or make one in majoras mask by doing the sword sidequest in the mountain village by paying rupees for a sharpening then (defeating Goht) open up goron race track and racing to get first prize of gold powder so that the smith can forge your sword into the gilded sword the second most powerful in the the game(the first is the fairy blade that you can get from the stone tower fairy) this gilded sword will stay gilded throught time travel and it will never lose it's edge as the razor sword did
