A water trap is a device that allows gas and air to pass but holds back water.

Usually people use already made water traps, which you can buy from local hardware shops or plumbers.

If you absolutely have to make one, then you need an S -shaped tube or hose you can shape as S. That is the fastest, although not necessarily best water trap.

The other way is to have a jar with a lid and then puncture two holes in the lid. Then glue tubes (like straw in a drink) securely in both holes. The other tube is attached to hose where water comes from and the other tube is connected to a hose where water goes.

After that, screw the lid back on the jar.

After running water in the kit sink after the water has drained you hear a gulping sound for a minute or 2 What causes this?

Do you have a S trap? this type of trap can cause a suction which will cause the water in the trap to drain out and possibly make the noise you described. Newer plumbing use P traps under sinks. If you smell sewer gases in the house you may want to consider upgrading your trap. If not, don't worry about the noise.

Should the trap be before or after vent or condensation drain?

The trap should be before the vent. The trap is used to maintain a watter barrier to prevent waste water and sewer gasses from entering the home. The vent is use after the trap to allow the water to flow freely in the pipe with out drawing the water from the trap.

How do you remove bad smells from kitchen sink?

Remove the trap. Firstly, make sure you have a trap. The trap actually stops odors from coming back up the sink into the room by trapping a small amount of water thus blocking gases from coming up through the pipe. IF you DO have a trap, you should disconnect it and make sure it doesn't have some harsh - gross - items trapped in it thus causing the odor.
