It would probablybe best to visit and gym and make a session with a personal trainer. He'll be able to set you up with a workout routine, and better yet, make sure you're able to do the exercise properly.
Burpies, they really work! you jump straight up with your hands in the air then crouch in a squat then push your legs out backwars and do a push up -IsaacLynch I am a fitness trainer, so my info might be good. -2 sets of 20 push ups. -lying down, with dumbells, 5 sets of 10 lifts. Depending on your weight, use about 1/10 of your weight per dumbell. For example, 100 lb boy uses 10 lb weights. -3-4 sets of medicine ball throwing. a 100 lb boy should 7-9 lb ball -if you have a pullup bar around, do as many pullups as possible, but they are hard, so do not push it. Chinups are easier, so do about 3 sets of 5-10 chinups. If you cannot do 5, do as many as you can, and week by week raise each set a chin up -for cardio, run about a mile on a treadmill or at a track. You do not have to sprint, but do not walk, jog or pace. -this is not everything, but its alot. You do not have to do them all in one day. Mix and match. do mixing of the weights and pullups/ chins. another day do cardio. If you would like additional help, I have a website you might like to use. www.absbyjoey.com good luck! Remember, do not push your limits, you will get hurt. Work until you can do it easier.
I'm 12 and I think that this is what you should do for a workout routine and I do this about everyday:
Lifting 10 pounds up and down 30 times for each arm
and lift both arms in air with two 10 lbs in each hand for 30 min
25 push ups
100 pull ups
walk-jogg-run 3 laps around block do it in winter or summer
if winter where a jaket/if summer t-shirt and shorts
According to me at the age of 12 a child doesn't need to work out in an excessive manner, however he can engage himself in physical activity, like playing cricket, football, outside game. This will be the right kind of work out at the age of 12.
This is what me and my friend do on a home gym machine: We do 3 different sets of 15's.
Set 1: Bench Press
Set 2: Shoulder Clamps
Set 3: Leg Lifts (weights)
Do with what ever amount of weight feels comfortable. But obviously dont do like 50 pounds because that wont do crap. Test your limits. We do about 120 lbs.

Depends on what you mean by 'workout'. Is it workout as in bodybuilding, or workout as in keeping fit?.. If you plan on getting fit, cardio for 25-30 minutes trice a week will do. I recommend running around a soccer ground or something. If you're talkin bout body building, I do not know how your body is structured and how you need to workout. try http://bodybuilding.com for a better workout that suits your physique.
