try to slowly let it out into a yard everyday. Eventually it will stay outdoors more often.
I stuck my cat on a leash and took her out in the yard. Granted she was pissed at me, so I took her inside after awhile and the next thing I know, shes sneaking outside. I required her to get a collar with tags after that.

∙ 13y agoAll you have to do is take your cat outside, really. When I take my cats outside for the first time, I bring them out into the yard and stay with them out there for an hour or so and let them explore and get used to it. Start out by just letting them out in the yard during the day for a few hours each day.
You should make sure though that you have a way of getting them in so they'll come when you call, we shake a treat bottle or bang a spoon on a tupperware dish because our cats know that means food. ;D
