You can make Chinese style dumplings by making a dough with flour and water and salt (if you want) kneed the dough well.
Make up a mixture of minced beef or minced pork, plus grated carrots or onions or chives. What ever vegetable you put in make sure it is cut fine or minced. Season meat mixture with salt.
Then using a rolling pin roll pieces of dough into small (fairly thin) circles about 50-60 mm diameter. Put some of the meat/vegetable mixture in the middle of the dough circle fold over and pinch edges together.
Cook in a pot of boiling water for a few minutes. Make a dipping sauce with chilli, soy vinegar and enjoy.

The easy way to make dumplings is to buy canned biscuits and tear them into halves, thirds or quarters depending on the size you want. I have posted my favorite recipe for chicken and dumplings but you can cook dumplings in almost any soup or stock.
