How do you make salt from the sea?

To process sea salt takes awhile. Five years ago I visited a sea salt maker in Italy. They have beds of water and the water moves from bed to bed. As it does the water gets less and the salt greater until finally it is all salt and all the water has evaporated At this point they have pure sea salt that they cut into blocks and put in a pile. They cover the pile of salt with a tarp until it is sold. Since going there I only use sea salt on my food. You can taste the difference between sea salt and mined salt. Salt that comes from a mine is processed with chemicals and bleached white. None of that is done to sea salt and it is completely natural. Sea salt comes from different parts of the world and in different colors. It will also taste differently depending on the part of the world it is from. You can buy it as crystals, fine grain, or course grain but you have to keep it in a glass container without metal.
