As a parent, it is their job to make decisions for you. It's only natural that you don't want them to, but they DO know better than you what's best for you. Not only is it their responsibility to make decisions that you are too young to make, but they have been where you are, so they are also drawing from that experience, as well, when making decisions that concern you. Parents do their best to guide and teach their children while raising them, to help them learn to make the right decisions when they get older. So hopefully, when you do get older, you will be able to make the right ones. Maybe it's not a matter of them bailing on you, but more that they want you to think the situation through, and make your own decision. Are you sure they "bailed" on you? Really sure? Maybe they want to see if you can, or will, make the right decision. Could this be a situation where they feel you are the only one who can make that decision? Talk to them about it, tell them what you think is the right decision, and see if they agree. Let them know that you realize you are the only one who can make this decision, but that you would really appreciate their opinion of the decision you have made. While you're at it, tell them you appreciate them teaching you how to make decisions now that you are older. You just may be pleasantly surprised at their reaction.
