It depends on how heigh the window sill is from the ground. it can be right above it, or far from the floor.
you need to be above or on the height they have set for you to go on a ride
Elevation is the word used to refer to the height above the ocean of a given piece of land. For example, the elevation (height above sea level) of the peak of Mt. Everest is 29,029 feet above sea level.
23 m.
Depth. To ascend is to go up, and to descend is go down. We measure the height of things above the ground and the depth of things below the ground.

Not really. Length is preferable, as height may be confused for the height the snake can raise itself above the ground under its own strength.
The height above the ground is called altitude. The word is sometimes used to mean elevation, which is the height above mean sea level. In aviation, altitude is usually expressed in feet ASL (above sea level), but can also be stated as feet AGL (above ground level) for purposes of avoiding obstructions. Properly set barometers can determine height above MSL, while radar altimeters are used to measure AGL.

Height above earths surface is called elevation
== == Science Major: Altitude is height above mean sea level (MSL) or true altitude, which means in reference to what sea level is on the ground, or height above ground level (AGL), which is also called absolute altitude, which means height above the ground with no reference to the ground's height above sea level. In example, if the sea level in a certain place is 100 feet and you are 250 feet above the ground, your altitude above sea level would be 350 feet, and your altitude above ground level would be 250 feet.
Potential Energy
About 8 kilometers above the ground.
Just measure the elevation of the max water height above the ground (or whatever reference level you wish to use).
The barometer became used as an altimeter in early aircraft to measure height above the ground and has been refined to be in every aircraft today.
An altimeter actually measure brometric (atmospheric) pressure, which converts to height above sea level
