How do you nail or whatever a piece of oak wood to an acoustic ceiling do you use a wood screw or regular nails or glue the wood piece is about 4 inches by 36 inches?

Are you dealing with a suspended ceiling with acoustic ceiling panels, with glued on 1' x 1' acoustic ceiling tiles or tiles which have been stapled to firring strips?
