The lock has a clip on the inside, pull the clip off and the lock will come out, remove the lock rod and then you can use a screwdriver to open the lock.
If the main trunk of your tulip tree has been broken off, it is possible for the tree to survive.
I have owned two four cylinder Fieros, currently own an '86 GT and a '88 Formula and they have all been exactly the same rate to insure. Most insurance companies, because the Fiero is so old, will simply give you a rate based on it being a Fiero and not typically look at colors or engine options. Source: Fiero owner for ten years.
I have been running this engine in my car for 3 years now, makes the Fiero what it should have been. Scary fast and completly reliable if done right. There are several good references on the web to tell you how and sell you the parts.
Yes the firebird dash from 93-2002 is a popular upgrade for the Fiero. It requires some mechanical and electrical skills and is not exactly plug and play. But it has been done dozens of times in the past decade. You can look on any Fiero forum for help on how to do it.
The first Pontiac Fiero was produced in 2003. It was revealed in San Francisco at the annual US Auto Show and received positive feedback. It has since been a highly purchased car.
By whom has the glass been broken?
make sure to check the "trunk security" switch inside the trunk. it is located on the drivers side of the trunk and needs to be in the on position (press the side of the switch with the car drawn on it). if the off position is pressed the interior trunk release switch won't work and the remote button on your keychain will only work when the motor is off. this has been an anoyance of mine for months and i finally read the owners manual.... hope this helps.
It is possible the trunk latch has been tripped with trunk up. Use your key fob/remote trunk release on inside and pop trunk. Now try and close. Please let me know if this helps.
