manually: insert key, turn, lift boot. voila :)
In the boot, on the right hand side under the tool tray :-)
No, as long as the power adapter is plugged in, the laptop will boot without the battery installed.
Recently i had the same problem when my 2006 bmw 320i's battery went dead and everythng seemed locked, even the key got stuck and i had to pull it out forcefully. To open the boot you have to charge the battery, now you must be thinking thay battery itself is located in the boot. Right ? Still you can charge the battery from the bonet(hood) of the car. you can open it coz it can be opened manually. now on the middle left side of the hood, you can see a metal plate with a red cover on it. Connect the positive wire of your other charged battery with it, and connect the negative terminal with any of the screws you can find near that postive wire on the hood. Now try to start the car and once it gets started, open the boot of your car and try to replace the battery because it may happen again.Hope it may solve your problem.Nouman
Actually, the POST "software" is part of the BIOS in a ROM or EEPROM chip which does not need battery power. The battery is needed for the CMOS chip that holds the boot settings.
Hard Drive (Boot from CD) - Tries to boot, loads BIOS, but won't load OS BIOS Battery might be dead - Replace Battery Power supply (if completely dead)
battery off switch is in the boot next to the aux. power socket. battery on switch under the rear seat behind drivers seat.
The battery is in the boot
The battery in in the trunk (boot).
in the boot
Corroded or loose battery cables. Also possible bad ground strap. It also could be the power wire to the started silinoid! It should be the red wire with the L shaped boot on it! try pluging that in and if that don't work, try crimping the end of the boot together! Boot may have expanded and with no power there, there will be no power anywhere in the vehicle!
