Remove caliper mounting bolts Slide caliper off rotor Use a "C" clamp to fully retract piston into caliper body If parking brake is used on this caliper piston is threaded and a special tool (not expensive) is required to thread piston into caliper body
left side engine compartment on the firewall. it connects to your brakes
The caliper is one part of the brake system.

STICKING BRAKE CALIPER
It is a special bolt/pin that allows the disc brake caliper to float. There is usually two per caliper.
Remove tire, remove two bolts holding brake caliper to rotor. Remove caliper with brake hose attached (set on top of rotor or hang with wire to relieve pressure off of brake hose). Slide brake pads off (you may have to gently tap on pads to remove them) and then put new ones on. Compress piston in caliper to make room for new pads with a clamp. Install caliper, install tire.
On an air brake system, the brake chamber is what actuates the air brakes... it converts air pressure to mechanical force, either turning an S-cam (on foundation brakes), or actuating a caliper (on disc brakes).
A brake rotor is what your brake pads squeeze to slow your car down. The brake pads are mounted in a caliper. When you apply the brakes, the caliper pushes the brakes into the rotor, which then slows down your wheel.Hi, It is a brake rotor, and is the physical disc of a disc brake. Peace, crigbyThe brake rotor is the disk part. Should be shiny from where the brake pads have been rubbing on it.
after getting the brake pads off and have a caliper in your hand, take a c-clamp and position it so it will close on the center of the piston.then make sure the cap for the brake fluid resovoir has been removed allowing the fluid to travel back through the line, then simply, but slowly, twist the c-clamp so it closes, and the piston on the brake caliper will slowly push in.
