The hood latch is located up by the windshield. It opens backwards. The hood opens toward the front of the car rather than to the back like most cars. The hood release should be in the left side of the drivers seat compartment. Pull that to release the lock. Run your fingers under the hood lip by the bottom of the windshield and locate the secondary hood latch. Release the lock and pull the hood up and toward the front of the car.

The air temperature sensor on the 1984 Corvette is located under the hood. It is under the air control bracket at the front of the intake manifold.

I have an 84 Vette and had a similar problem. Get a needle nose pliers. If you able, grab a hold of the cable which is just behind the hood release handle, grasp on to it firmly and pull it, but to to hard. Have someone help you to open the hood at the same time if you need to. ...................Matt B.
