This may not be the best answer, but if you can get under the front end of the truck and stick your hand up next to the battery, fish along the wall and search for a cord about 3/16 to 1/4 of an inch wide. Once you find it, use some wire cutters to cut the cable, leaving enough slack to pull the cable down to where you can work with it up close. Once you've got the cable in front of you, use some wire strippers to remove about 5 to 8 inches of the plastic tubing around the cable leading to the front of the truck. Once you've done that and you've got about 5 to 8 inches of cable to work with, you ought to take some needle-nose pliers and grip the end of the exposed cable, then wrap the exposed portion of the cable around the midsection of the pliers and once you've got it held tight to the pliers in this fashion, slowly give it a good pull. Work it this way until the hood is released. Hope this helps.
