You buy a new motor for the window or open it using the switch beside the driver door (if it is a relitively new car).
Confirmed - this works on Toyota Sequoia 2005 also. They are on separate fuses. A problem reported by a number of T4R owners is that the rear wiper and rear defogger stop working but the rear power window still works. You'll think I'm crazy but to fix it, follow these steps... - roll down the rear window using the dash button. - roll the rear window back up but keep the button pressed for a few seconds after it is fully up. TaDa! Should work again. Credit goes to drmobius on t4r.org for this fix. He's right, Here's why. Try something simple: just open and re-close the rear window. The window has a safety switch that keeps the wiper, washer and heater from working if the window is open. The window settles down (from opening and closing the hatch) over time the window settling triggers the switch. If you open and re-close the window it resets the switch and everything works again. My 2003 4 Runner does this over time. I just open it and re-close it to fix the problem.
use the key if that dont work pull up on the gear shift while trying the button that is if its an automatic.
push the button
Check to make sure your rear window is not down a little bit. I could not get the rear w/s wiper or the rear window defroster to work until I lowered the rear window and then closed it again. Problem solved. Hope it works for you, too !
I have had the exact same problem with my 1990 wrangler, I found out that unless the handel that allows you to open and shut the rear window is not in the exact closed position and the window is closed tight in place, the wiper will not work but the washer will. Just for fun once I realized this I tried to turn the rear wiper on with the window open and it did not work until I shut it. Hope it works for you.
My 2003 4 runner window also does weird things. I found that over time the window actually settles down ( most likely from opening and closing the rear hatch. ) so now when it gives me weird problems I open it and re-close it. This resets the safety switch. (it keeps your window washer and wiper from working if the window is open. ) The window may look closed but in truth it's settled just enough to make the switch think it's open. I had the same problem (rear washer/wiper didn't work. I first checked the fuse and when it turned out to be OK I came here. The above answer fixed the problem. Thanks!!

A pillar garnish cooperates with a center pillar to define there between a space which serves as a demister duct for conveying hot, dry air directed from a side demister nozzle to a rear side window.-...Yasar Arafath
there is a brake in the contacts on the back window
I have a 96 Chevy Blazer S-10 and the latch to open the window in the back hatch will not work. How do I replace the motor?? or whatever to repair?
Mine has a similar issue when the rear window hatch releases (for no reason it will just pop open). In order to shut off the interior lights while I'm driving there is an "override" button to the left of the steering wheel on the dash. If I hit that then I get all the same symptoms you described, the rear washer does not work because the "rear hatch is open", the remote won't work and the radio will shut off when I stop the car until I close the rear hatch and hit the "override" button again. Hope that helps.
There is a switch that allows you to open and close the Lincoln Navigator rear side windows. The switch is located on the overhead console.
