I have a 95 Xj6 and I found this anwer:
"go to electrical accessorie supply sockets on left fender well beside small fuse box or on firewall beside hood latch on each side pull off rubber boot for access hook up posititivie jumper cable and find ground for negetive cable only leave hooked up for a few seconds to pop trunk push trunk button and remove cables (pg 98 of vehicle care book)".
Before finding this question, a mechanic told me that there was a place in the engine where you can hook up the positive cable to and then ground to the engine. Well, it looks like he is right. Best of luck.
Open your trunk, remove the carpet as if you are getting to the spare tire and the batterie is located there, remove it with a socket wrench and take it to your local autozone for charging.
wrench size 10mm and if your battery died and you cant open the trunk, you have to enter the trunk through the back seat and pull the safety nop to the left. there is a positive anode under the hood on the passengers side the jump will give you enough juice for the trunk button to open the trunk.
Pull the tops of the battery off and pour sterilized water in he open ports. Then charge the battery as normal. If it doesn't hold the charge then you need to replace the battery.
You have to take the trunk floor out and the battery will be on the right.
Look under the rear passenger seat My 2003 745li has the battery in the right rear corner of the trunk. You will need to open and remove the access panel, take out the jack and the tray it sits in and then you will see the battery
Take the back seat out and crawl into the trunk and open it that way.
The battery may be defective and not able to take a charge.
it takes about 18 hours to charge.(1.2x(Mah of battery)/300
Yes, your can charge the battery with the radio on. But why would you want to do this? It will just take longer to charge with something drawing current from the battery.
did you charge the battery? check to make sure that you are not leaving a door open or a light on. If the battery is defective return it. You may need to take your car to the shop
How long does it take for an 18v battery to charge
No. A battery that will not take a charge has a dead cell. It cannot be repaired and must be replaced.
