The 3 most common ways I open mine are...
1) Pushing the trunk button on the remote key.
2) Using the trunk release button on the console in between the dash.
3) Pressing the key/button on the trunk itself with, and this is the tricky part, my right pointer finger.
While this has always been enough ways for me, you may prefer some other method described in your owners booklet.
