The solution to global warming is to plant treesand stop adding carbon dioxide to the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

To do this we have to stop using fossil fuels, so we have to find other renewable ways to produce energy.

While we wait for solar, wind and water power to catch up, we have to stop any waste of electricity and fossil fuel burning in our heating and transport.

The one real solution to climate change is urgent government action. We can all do our bit to help, by being more energy efficient, but only governments, acting in concert, have the power and resources to avoid the disaster that is predicted if global warming is allowed to continue unchecked. The governments must set stringent but achievable targets to reduce national carbon emissions and then take the difficult decisions that will achieve those targets.
I think the biggest solution is if we (people) figure out a way to stop the GREENHOUSE GASES and GLOBAL WARMING. Then our planet and atmoshphere will be saved.

  1. Move immediately to renewable energy (solar, wind, water, hydro, tidal and wave, geothermal, ocean thermal, biomass, biofuel and hydrogen).
  2. Stop burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) in industry, transport and the generation of electricity, which releases carbon dioxide (CO2).
  3. Reforestation. Plant billions of trees to replace our lost forests.

There will be no one specific solution. Instead, a multifaceted approach will be required. We first need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, by switching to and developing alternative energy sources to fossil fuels. We especially need to quit generating electricity via coal fired power plants. We should construct public mass transit systems, and take other measures to encourage conservation.

The US Military has been busy trying to reduce dependence upon foreign oil, though very recently the US congress sought to interfere with those goals.

Now try to understand it fully, in particular to understand why, although we must not be complacent, changing human habits can not and will not "solve the problem" but only delay the inevitable. For we are merely accelerating the rate of change of a natural warming we cannot stop. All we can do is buy time.

And try to analyse the genuine environmental profit/loss balances of the sort of suggestions you make: I think you will find the answer depressing. Basically humanity has created profligate societies in an over-populated world; but no-one has yet really found genuine solutions that would be humane and effective.

It is a bleak truth that, as I said, we can only buy time.

The solution couldn't be simpler.

Stop use of fossil fuels, aerosols and cutting down of forests.

Executing this a little trickier.

Technology may be of assistance if Energized Immediately; otherwise Carbon Emissions being what they are, are fearful.
