You don't put bullets in an air rifle you only put in pellets.
Open the bolt, slide the pellet in nose forward. Pump the rifle 10 times. push the safety off, aim and fire.

The .357 has a longer case and a heavier bullet; it is identical to a .38 in diameter but far more powerful. This is why a .38 will fire in a .357 but not the other way around.
Generally speaking, the .45 caliber bullet is larger in diameter and heavier than a 9mm bullet.
Somwething like this, 223 or 224 diameter bullet is 22 cal. 243 or 6mm is 24 cal 257 is 25 cal 308 is 30 cal and so on. There are some bullet diameters that cross over the caliber lines.
