You can use a large C Clamp and acouple of deep well sockets to pop the old one out, and pop the new one back in place... it shouldn't be to hard to do and it will save you a ton of money.

Inorder to get to your Ball Joint all you have to do is remove the center bolt for your C/V Joint... then remove the 13mm bolts that's holding the sway bar in place, using a 18mm open end wrench and a 15mm socket to take the ball joint off the steering knuckle, then just pop it out using the large C clamp and 2 deep sockets, pop the new one in and your set, just put it back together and have fun :).

How do you change a ball joint on a 1994 dodge spirit?

Ball Joints are pressed in... you will need a tool kit for ball joints which is about 30-40 dollars, or a real large C clamp and 2 big sockets... you just pop the old one off, if its not already off, and press the new one in.

How to Replace transmission seal 1995 dodge spirit?

what needs to be disconnected and removed to detach the transmission and then insert and replace the mail shaft seal? Depends on what seals needs replaced. For the axle seals, just pull the axle. 1) With vehicle on the ground losen the axle nut. Raise vehicle and remove the tire. 2) Pop the ball joint bolt... If you are doing this yourself, its a good idea to lower the sway bar. 3) With the ball joint popped, Remove the axle. 4) All you have to do is take a screw driver, pop the seal out and install new seal, I usually use just a rubber mallet to pop it back it. Can be stuborn, depending on which Axle seal it is. Now for the torque converter seal, the transmission has to be lowered.

How do you change the upper and lower ball joints on a 1999 dodge ram 1500 rear drive?

when you purchase new ball joints, ask the parts store if they also rent out a ball joint press (its a giant C clamp with a couple sleeves and disks) and a pickle fork (also called a ball joint separator), usually autozone and oriellys carry these tools. after you jack up your truck, you take the separator tool, and put it in between the control arm and the spindle (rotor assembly) and just hammer the crap out of it until they separate(its a taper fit into a hole in the spindle, so it will pop out). after this you use the ball joint press to pop out the old ball joint out of the control arm, then use the press to press in the new joint, place the taper back into the spindle and then jack up the arm to press the spindle and joint back together, then screw on the nut and your good to go. As for the lower ball joint, im currently tryin to get mine pressed in and its being a pain in the butt. I also have a 1999 dodge ram 1500 2wd. Separate the lower control arm from the spindle using the separator just like you did for the top ball joint, now before you try to press out the lower ball joint, there is a snap ring along the top of the joint that you need to remove first, after removing the snap ring, simply press out the old joint, press in the new joint (which is where im at and its being a dic* about) and then put on the new snap ring so it helps hold the joint in place. After this place the spindle back on the taper again, jack it up to press it together, and screw on the nut and cotter pin and then attach your grease tips (if it comes with them) and grease them and your done. now if it was only that easy....

How do you change a control arm for a 1994 dodge 2500?

Remove wheel & and properly support vehicle. Take cotter pin out of ball joint stud and loosen nut (only remove ball joint nut half way). Use a small sledge hammer to strike steering knuckle where it attaches to ball joint stud (don't strike ball joint stud or nut!) and use eye safety goggles because small pieces of metal may fly. Once the ball joint stud comes free from steering knuckle you may remove ball joint nut. Remove bolts that secure control arm to vehicle. Now you can remove control arm from vehicle. Tips: After removing wheel you can spray something like PB Blaster/WD-40 on all nuts you must remove. Replace ball joint cotter pin with new cotter pin. USE COMMON SENSE AND MAKE SURE SUSPENSION SPRING DOES NOT VIOLENTLY POP WHEN REMOVING BALL JOIN NUT- YOU CAN SUPPORT LOWER CONTROL ARM WITH JACK TO UNLOAD THE WEIGHT.

How do you replace the lower ball joint on a 1993 Pontiac grand prix?

It's not particularly fun. The easiest way is to remove the lower control arm so you can work on it easier. You'll need to remove the cotter key and nut on the ball joint. Separate the ball joint from the spindle. Remove the control arm bushing nuts and bolts, along with the end link. The rivets holding the ball joint in will have to be drilled out. The new joint comes with bolts and nuts instead of rivets. Install is reverse of removal. Use caution, though it won't go anywhere, the spindle will pop out at you due to coil spring pressure when you separate the ball joint from the spindle.

How do you replace the rear upper ball joint on a 2002 sebring?

You have to remove the rear tire and you will see the Rear ball joint pressure fit into a round bar the easiest way to get this out is to heat it with a blow torch and pound it with a hammer and chizzle. This should eventually pop it out and then the new one is much easier to replace.
