I have a 2000 Pontiac Montana and I had to pop the hood on mine today. The way I did it is I decided to look for a lever inside and I found one on the left side of the steering wheel at the bottom of the dash. I pulled the lever and went to the front of the car and seen that the hood was released. Than I reached under the bottom of the grill where I found another lever pushing it up. Than I was able to completely raised the hood up. Hope this helps.

The battery on a 2005 Pontiac Montana is changed by raising the hood, loosening both of the battery cables, and lifting them off the posts. The old battery can then be lifted out, a new battery put in, and the cables reattached.
Open the hood of your Montana and stick your head under the hood. You will be looking directly at the engine compartment. To replace it, close the hood, get in the van and drive directly to your GM dealer. See a salesman and buy a new van. Note: the Montana is no longer made but the salesperson will show you what is available.
