There are several places you can go to prepare for the SAT. First of all, I would review the PSAT that you took. Review the answers you got wrong and go over the format of the test. Next, you can review the SAT booklet that you should have received in a package with your test information. This booklet should have examples of the questions on the SAT and key concepts you need to know. It should also include a preactice test. After doing that, it would be a good idea to check out from the library all the prep books for the SAT that you can find. Some good ones that I recommend are the Official SAT Study Guide that should include 8 practice tests and strategies for the SAT. Another good book to find is the Underground Guide to the SAT. it includes invaluable tips on guessing, the matha, reading, and writing section, and methods to improve your concentration span. It presents the information in an amusing way and provides plenty of examples and practice. Finally, the last book that I will recommend will be SAT Advanced Prep for Advanced Students. this book provides plenty of strategies and examples. I think the strategies they present do work and are valuable things to have. That's it for the books!! But if you can't access some of these books, you can also go on the internet and get plenty of valubale resources. This: http://www.internet4classrooms.com/act_sat.htm is a good website to go to that presents tons of informational resources. Another good website to go to is http://studio4learning.tv/. There is a whole section of videos on the website that presents SAT strategies and practice questions. An essential website is http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/prep_one/prep_one.HTML.This is the official SAT website that presents a practice test and practice questions, along with a SAT question of the day. This pdf document is the 1000 most common words used on the SAT: http://img.sparknotes.com/content/testprep/pdf/sat.vocab.pdf. This should help with the verbal section of the test.
Well, that is all I have to offer. Hope you find these resources helpful!!! :)You should prepare for SATs using a variety of trusted sources. Khan Academy has practice tests available for the new SAT. You may also practice out of a study guide from CollegeBoard or study from a tutor or class.
