There is a tool made especially for this task. Most Auto Parts stores will rent you one.
That pulley is a press fit type. There are not any threads. You will need to rent/buy some pullers for that power steering pulley.
That requires a special tool that is called a power steering pulley PULLER. some parts stores will rent it to you. Call some. It also takes a special bolt and washer to press it back on.

The pulley is a press fit. If it no longer fits tight you need to replace it with a new one. This procedure requires special tools to remove and install the pulley to the pump. Some auto parts stores will rent the tools you need to do the job if you buy the parts from them.
You will need a special tool to pull the pulley off the shaft. Some parts stores will lend you the tool, free of charge. Thank you. I had to rent the 'pulley puller', and remove the pulley prior to removing the power steering pump. Then replace the pump on the car and use the pulley tool to press the pulley back on to the pump shaft. There was not much room to work, even with the fan shroud loosened, but eventually I got it off and on. Again, thanks for the help.
to remove the tensioner first you need to remove the bracket that holds it. once you have removed the pulley bracket with the pulley still attached to it, 1 remove the retaining nut, and washers. 2 You will need to use a press to remove the bearing from the post.. 3 If you are replacing the bearings on the pulley you will need to remove the "C" clip retainer, and press the bearing out.
It depends on whether or not the power steering pulley is a bolt on or a press on. If it is a bolt on, simply place the bottom side of the power steering pump in a vice and unbolt it. If you have to pull it off (press on) pray you have aforementioned vice. You will need to go down to your local auto parts store and see if they rent out press on pulley removers. Pretty expensive if you have to purchase it. You complete this the easy way, unbolt the slip tightening bolt to loosen the fan belts up. Then unbolt the rest of the unit, detach your intake and output tubes for the power steering fluid, then if you want to not have to bleed the system, crimp both tubes BEFORE you remove it. Then place the entire unit in the bottom and use the pulley remover. It is in two pieces and goes on either side of the top groove of the pulley in the center. Then a screw-on unit goes on top and you just twist and it pushes the main unit down until...pop...then your done.
You need to remove the pulley from the pump to access the bolts that hold it to the bracket. A special puller is needed to remove the pulley and press it back on without damage to the pump or pulley. Most auto parts stores will rent you the tool to do the job correctly.
