you have to pry it against the spring to move it right or left. best way depends on direction of travel on tensioner in question to the left or right. Find a socket that fits the pulley bolt if it moves right or clockwise and push on handle to turn clockwise. Since the bolt should not tighten any more, pulley should move instead. You can try this the other way if that is direction of travel, but if it loosens bolt before moving, you can use a long tire iron or pry bar. When it's time to put the belt on it's easier with a helper to slip it on while someone holds tensioner.

The back brakes on my Honda Accord are disc brakes. After removing the brake cylinder assembly you will see the brake cylinder piston end has a slot in it. The short pin on the back side of the inner brake pad fits into this slot, but also it is used to 'Turn' (clock-wise) the piston back into the cylinder so you fit the assembly back over the new 'thicker' pads. You can not 'press' this piston back into the cylinder.
