If you have lost or do not know your keyless entry code,(sedan) it is either taped to the inside of the trunk lid or on the computer module in the luggage compartment. And on the station wagon it is under the carpet in the spare tire wheel well taped on the rear right corner.

You can set a personal code, but you need the original code to do it. And this does not replace the permanent original code.

To program a personal code, enter your selected 5 digits then enter the original permanent code then press 1/2 within 5 seconds.

To erase your personal code enter the permanent code then press 1/2 within five seconds and wait six seconds.

If you are talking about the keyless remote transmitter system: Turn the ignition switch from OFF to RUN eight times within 10 seconds, ending in RUN. If the module has successfully entered program mode, it will lock and then unlock all doors. Press any one button on each keyless entry remote transmitter within 20 seconds of entering program mode and the doors will lock and then unlock to confirm that each keyless entry remote transmitter has been programmed. If the door locks do not respond for any keyless entry remote transmitter , wait a couple of seconds and press the button again. If the door locks still fail to respond, then there is a problem. Turn ignition switch OFF to exit program mode. If a new set of keyless entry remote transmitters have been programmed (or reprogrammed), the module will lock and unlock all doors one last time to confirm. Entering programming mode erases all remotes in the system, so all old remotes must also be re-programmed at this time as well. If you're talking about programming a personal 5 digit code into the keyless entry, here's what my 1998 Owner's Manual offers:

1. Enter the factory-set code

2. Press the 1/2 control within five seconds of step 1.

3. Enter your personal 5 digit code. Enter each digit within five seconds of the previous one.

Do not set a code that includes five of the same number or presents them in sequential order. Thieves can easily figure out these types of codes. Your personal codes does NOT replace the permanent code that the dealership gave you. You can use either code to unlock your vehicle. If a second personal code is entered, the module will erase the first personal code in favor of the new code.

I actually found the door code behind the fuse box area (Driver Side) on my brother's 2000 Ford Expedition EB. There is a big white sticker with 5 numbers starting with number 1####.

I am not sure what you mean by "reset" the entry code. There is no resetting it. The factory code is permanent and will not ever be erased or disabled. You can also program an additional code in the module that is considered a "temporary" code. Here is the procedure: Enter the permanent code on the keyless entry keypad. Press button 1/2 within 5 seconds of last digit of permanent code. (This alerts system to accept temporary code.) Enter alternate five-digit code. Do not exceed 5 seconds between entering digits or between pressing the 1/2 key and entering the first digit. This sets an additional code of your choice in the memory, but the factory code is also in there, so you will now have 2 codes that will open the door. If you have forgotten the factory code, you can retrieve it by either having the dealer scan the module for the code, or locate the Remote Anti-theft Personality(RAP) module and there will be a sticker with your 5 digit code on printed on it.

A couple of nifty features of FoMoCo's keyless entry touchpad include: Within 5 seconds of entering your unlock code, if you press the "3/4"button, the rest of the doors unlock. If you press "5/6", it opens the trunk (sedans), liftgate (wagon and van). If you press "7/8" and "9/0" simultaneously, all doors lock (with keys in ignition and/or engine running). Press them again, and it sets the alarm (if equipped).
