very simple.. stay in a room that has a mixture of gas except oxygen.. then u will confirm urself..!! else try this, keep a beaker inverted over the unlighted gas stove and make the gas collected in the beaker, now immediately put an alive insect (try with mice or frog), close the mouth of beaker tightly and wait for few seconds.. if it is a glass beaker u can notice the suffocation of test animal inside the beaker due to lack of oxygen
