You should be in the time-line view to complete this task:
> Click on one of the scenes/videos you wish to add the title
> Under Edit, click on Titles and Credits
> Now choose: Title before selected clip
> Click Add Title
You will see the title appear in the Video track before the clip. If you want the title in a different spot than chosen, click on it and drag it along the time-line to another location. You can extend the length of the title as well by dragging it to the right.
