If it is anything like my 1996 Aerostar, and we are speaking about the Front Disk Calipers, there are two expanding clips on the top and bottom. I use a flat-edged screw driver to get the notch to release between the caliper and the holder, and then just lightly tap the clips out. They are much easier to put back in, just start them at an angle and tap the other end and they straighten out as they enter the void.

Lift the car, remove the tire and set aside, remove the brake shoe/calipers and remove the old pads. Replace the old pads with the new pads, replace the brake shoe/calipers, replace the tire and lower the car.
