i have to put freon R-134 into my 99 3.8 L, its in the center rear, (away from headlights). you can tell because there is a black nob hooked up to the silver in color tube. with the do it yourself stuff its hard because its in an akward position but wasnt realy designed for it i guess. just un screw the black nob on the silver tube that is center rear under the front hood.

A 1999 Cavalier does not use Freon as a refrigerant.
if its got a 3.5 you need 6 qts.
We have a 1998 Intrigue and I can tell you why we were losing power and it was getting kinda' scary, although it would start right up again after I pulled over, put it in park and restarted it. We had an oil leak and it was dripping on to a sensor.
A 1982 Oldsmobile was built to use R12, it would need retrofitted to R134a..
It is a half-inch blackish bulb next to the air vent on top of the dash. Don't put your hat over it, or your lights will stay on all the time.

it is located slightly towards the driver side on the firewall inside the engine compartment. it has a black cap covering it. ti is clearly in view and easy to access.
The 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme uses R12 freon and needs 36 ounces. R12 is no longer being made, but is still being recycled and is still available through online auctions.
