Fixed mode will allow objects to float in the air, and Phased will allow most objects to pass through each other (weapons and some other things won't go through stuff). NOTE: this only is available in forge

This is a common forge trick that is essential for any good forge map. To make a floating thing it first has to be something that you cannot move like a bridge or double box If you make it a pallet it will just fall. To get it in the air without it falling you must first get several of those objects or tall objects, stack them up and then when you are at the right height put your platform on top. Then delete all the objects underneath this and there you have it a floating platform that does not fall.
