Unbelievably there is a button to the left of the gearshift. You should see a small rectangular piece of plastic. You have to pop that off, and press and hold the button inside while shifting into neutral - make sure the key is turned in the ignition. Handy that Toyota forgot this little nugget of information in the manual!! If I have to look on the internet to see how to put my vehicle in neutral (and couldn't even find the answer!!) something is definitely wrong. I called Toyota and they told me how to do it. And FYI, I'm not the guy who asked the Q in the first place...so there are a few of us out there that could use that info.
You cannot put a vehicle in neutral when the motor is turned off. You can put the vehicle in neutral while the motor is running. Then you can turn the vehicle off and the vehicle will remain neutral.
put you truck in neutral with motor running ...pull you dip stick ....better put the emergency on
With the engine running , stop , hold foot on brake pedal , shift transmission to neutral , select 4 low , put transmission in gear

The tank that is located under the battery on a 2004 Toyota Sienna is a windshield washer fluid tank. Toyota put this tank in this position on the 2004 to 2010 models of the Sienna.

Most automatics require you to depress the brake pedal.
If it's a two wheel drive model, yes - all you have to do is put the transmission into neutral. If it's a four wheel drive, only if you can put the transfer case into neutral.
