Can you draw unemployment in North Carolina if you are dismissed from your job because the doctor put you on light duty work?

North Carolina would probably approve your claim for unemployment based on the fact you lost your job through no fault of your own.

On what ground can an employer deny unemployment?

if you quit and walk out and if they will not hire you back but you can do a interview with them and unemployment to see if they will pay this happened to me in Florida i was worrking a a company i was under fmla and they tried to put me as walking off my job but i was told to leave and i did a interview on the phone the company did not even answer the interview and i was approved and back paid ...this was in Florida... Employers do not deny unemployment - state employment commissions do, based on facts about your separation. Employer can protest your claim, ans the commission wil investigate.

If you are not at fault and the police report and witnesses prove this do you still pay your deductible?

You do not have to pay the deductible if the other person's insurance is paying the claim. If you put the claim through your insurance, and do not have uninsured, underinsured motorist protection then you will have to pay the deductible regardless of who's at fault.

Can you collect unemployment benefits in Colorado if you received a lump sum severance payment that is equal to 6 months of pay?

Unemployment benefits have nothing to do with severance payments - severance is a lump sum payment that covers the period from when you would have been let go and when you were actually let go. The key words there are "let go". You cannot draw Unemployment benefits if you leave a job of your own accord (in other words if you quit). However, if your employer fires you, lays you off, whatever term they use, if you are out of a job because the company has told you that your job is no longer available for any reason, then you are eligible for Unemployment. That's why you should never quit a job - always let them fire you so you can collect, regardless of the circumstances. Companies will sometimes hound and harass employees just to get them to quit so they can't collect Unemployment. They are complete and utter snakes. Many people don't realize that Unemployment Benefits are funded in part by deductions from your own salary in the form of State taxes. It's your money - you'd better be able to collect it. How much you get depends on how long you were employed by the company that let you go. They have to put in so much money for your Unemployment Benefits as well. Usually the longer you were there the more you get for a longer period of time. It's important that you file ASAP as it takes time to get the ball rolling and get that first check, especially today with more people having problems.

What text should you put on the back of your personal check to make sure the settlement is closed if you choose to pay off the claim yourself?

What can you do if you forget to file an unemployment claim for the week?

If you do not file for unemployment for a week (usually Sun-Sat), then you have to call the unemployment office and request a representative to manually enter that week. In most cases they will be able to enter the information, however if they want to be difficult they can deny you or put your claim on hold to go through the adjudication process. If it is your first time, they will more than likely grant your request and give you a warning. You do have the entire week to claim, and the best thing for you to do in the future is to file the exact time each week so you do not forget. Schedule the time/day in your phone or calendar so this does not happen again.

Can you put a lien on a truck that you purchased for your boyfriend because he has not begin to pay the loan back?

Only if he has signed a document that recognizes that you you lend him the money, that he promises to pay you back and that he pledges the truck as collateral for the loan. If this is the case you can legitimately put a lien on the truck and repossess it if he does not pay you. Other than that he can claim that you gave it to him as a gift.
