There is a small valve you can buy for a few dollars at any store that sells fish products. You cut the air tubing (with the pump off, first) and connect it to both ends. Then you can adjust the valve, allowing only as much air through as you want.
The only way to make the sound of the bubbles quieter is to buy an air pump with an adjustable dial; turning the level of air down can reduce the noise, but this will also reduce the amount of oxygen you are adding to the tank.
good for the fishes
Air bubbles will do nothing. What is needed is a filter.
I would not expect to see any CO2 bubbles in any aquarium I had set up. In a properly planted tank with good lighting and water parameters there should be no need to add extra CO2. Anyways, I have added CO2 in my tank. Now please tell me how many bubbles per minute? All the info you require can be found here http://www.brainyday.com/jared/aquarium/co2.htm
i think it does
You are supposed to have bubbles in your fish tank or else your fish will die because they don't have enough oxygen.
If it's a cluster of white bubbles it's a bubbles nest, and your male is wishing in vain there was a female nearby to lay eggs there. If the whole surface is cloudy white, then the water is very dirty and needs to be changed asap!

They have their own mass and volume, and they are coming out of the tubing with more force than the water surrounding the tubing.
The worlds largest aquarium is The Georgia Aquarium.

Yes! In addition: Yes, gold fish are quiet, although some of them like to jump or splash, which isn't very noisy. However, the equipment used to aerate the aquarium can be noisy, but it's usually a "white noise", one that is continual and can be ignored or people get used to hearing it because it is always on.
