I dont know that you can reprogram to a different frequency for the same vehicle but I think i know how to program a vehicle/remote for one that it doesnt currently work for. I've seen it done once and cant say for 100% sure this was how he did it but i believe if you put the keys in the ignition(possibly on accessory) and have the drivers door open (i know the door needs to be open) then I think you just hold down the door lock button on the remote for a minute until they lock. It sounds ridiculous but somehow between the vehicle system and the remote it will automatically program itself. I know its something like this but it cant hurt to try. Maybe someone can expand on this. the owners manual gives detailed instructions on programing the remote control Paraphrased from the manual: Get in the car and close all doors with the ignition 'OFF'. Open the driver side door and leave it open for the programming process. Using the manual lock slide on the driver door, move the slide to the 'locked' position. Turn the ignition key to the 'Run' position. Point your keyless entry fob at the dome light. Press the 'Lock' button on the fob for five seconds or until the car locks cycle. Close the door. Turn the ignition off within 20 seconds of programming. All done... Get out and verify operation. My 1993 GCL manual states that you can program to recognize up to four different fobs.
Close all windows and doors.
Insert key into drivers door, and within 5 seconds turn the key to the unlock position 3 times to enter programing mode (drivers door LED should be lit).
Remove key.
Program mode is only active for 15 seconds.
Press and hold the lock button within 5 seconds.
Press unlock button 3 times (with lock button still held).
Release lock button
correct programming indicated by key LED flashing 5 times, and drivers door LED flashing 6 times.
