By taking the reading prior to the water company (sometimes in CU FT) and then seeing how much they charge you. Do this for several months so you can figure out how much they are charging per liter /gallon.
Turn off everything in the house so you are sure that there is no water being used. Check the water meter to be sure the gauge is not moving.
