Rebuilding a starter will cost you more in time and money. Just buy a new one. 30 min and your running
...OR ...
spend 10 minutes to take off 2 nuts (remove power and ground wires) and 3 bolts (to remove starter). Once you have the starter off another few minutes to do an amp test if you have the equipment. If not just remove the two long bolts that hold the starter together, take the nut off the solenoid and remove the brushes and inspect them (brushes are attached together in a housing with wire going to the solenoid). If any of the 4 brushes are worn out, buy a replacement piece for $10. If you have time it's a good idea to spend a few minutes cleaning excess grime off any inner parts. Put it together and install it.
$10 and 30 minutes later and you are back on the road.
But you can pay the $150 - $200 for a new starter if you like and still spend the same amount of time driving to the parts store, removing and reinstalling the starter. I know the extra 10 minutes rebuilding and cleaning it can be a pain for some excessively busy or limited intelligence persons.
