FIRST AND FOREMOST: IF YOUR AIR DIDN'T TURN FROM COLD TO NOT SO COLD TO COOL TO WARM AND SO ON, YOU MAY HAVE A LEAK. MINE WAS FREEZING ONE MINUTE AND THE NEXT DAY IT WAS HOT. TURNS OUT I HAD SNAPPED A REFRIGERANT LINE IN HALF. SO IF YOU LOST IT ALL OF A SUDDEN YOU'LL NEED TO PRESSURE TEST THE SYSTEM. Now The easiest way would be to buy a recharge kit at the auto parts store or even Walmart( think it's cheaper at Walmart) It will be the one that has the canister of R-134A and the hose with it. It will have instructions on the can basically telling you to turn your A/C on Max and all the way up. Make sure your car is at normal operating temp. There are two refrigerant lines. Because I have this same car I can tell you that the quick connect will only fit on one of the lines connectors. It is the line closest to the condensor up by the firewall. Shake the can real good before you hook it up. Connect the hose to the line and open the valve. Then tilt it back and forth 45% and agitate it by giving it a little shake. At the end of the bottle, turn it upside down to get the last bit then turn off the valve and disconnect from line. You should be good. (Technically you should probably check the specs on what the pressure should be then pressure test the system)
it is on the passenger side of the engine compartment, and is part of the big silver accumilator.
You would just need to make sure that the batter is charged. You can get a new battery or hook it up overnight in an outlet.
The ac recharge port is the low side port. It is on the hoses on the passenger side of the engine close to the belts.
I had a 1995 buick lesabre and the A/C compressor went out in the winter time. I waited until spring to replace the compressor. In the mean time, I used a Dayco 72.10 inch belt and bypassed the A/C compressor and it runs fine.
Un plug the drain which is on the firewall behind the right front tire.
Connect a freon tank and gauge to the Buick Century low side ac port. Start the car and turn the ac to high. Open the tank and allow freon to flow. Shut the tank off when the gauge reads full.
You have to go on the compressor! My husband has a 95 and the auto parts manager told him you have to.
Could be a number of issues, from mildew to coolant. You should ask a trusted service on diagnosing the issue.
You should not attempt to recharge the ac system unless you are qualified to do so. There are a lot of things that can go wrong. Take it to a dealer or repair shop and have them test the system, as there may be a leak. If that's the case, recharging it would only cost you money.
