How to Make a DVD

This guide will tell you to make your own DVD that you can watch on any DVD player like a normal movie, for free. Everything that you have to do is free.

To make a DVD you will need:

Windows Movie Maker (any version) (comes on computer)

DivxToDvd by VSO software (download for free)

Prism by NHS software (download for free)

DVD Shrink 3.1 (download for free)

A Writable DVD +/-

To download those programs search them in Google and pick a site to download from.

After you have downloaded those programs and got a disc you can start.

Step 1:

To start off you need a movie to put onto the DVD. So get out those handy cams, video cameras, digital cameras or whatever it is that you use to film stuff and start filming.

Once you have got your videos onto your computer load them onto Windows Movie Maker and make a film. This program lets you add effects to your film, cut and crop it, plus loads more.

Once you think you are happy with it click on 'Save To My Computer'. Make sure you can find your video when it is saved. Once it has saved you can go on to the next step.

Step 2:

Now that you have your movie onto your computer you have to convert it to AVI with Prism. To do this go into Prism, put your movie on there, select AVI as the file to convert to and hit convert. Again make sure you can find your video when it is saved.

Step 3:

Now you have to convert it to a DVD format with DivxToDvd. Open it, select your video to convert and then convert. Again make sure you can find your video.

Step 4: (last)

Now its time to put your movie onto your blank DVD. To do this open DVD shrink 3.1 and click open file. Find your DivxToDvd converted file and put it onto DVD Shrink. Then put your blank DVD into the disc drive. When you are ready click backup on DVD Shrink. You will have to select a place to put the files. Then press ok and it will start putting your movie onto the disc. Once it is done you will be able to watch it on any DVD player.

WinX DVD Author is also an easy way make home video DVD in Windows (10) from video files, camcorder, webcam, YouTube and personalize it with DVD chapter menu & subtitle (*.srt). And it's also totally free.

To record from TV to a DVD you will need a DVD player with the record option that is connected to your TV. You will also need DVDs that are designed for recording and are labeled DVD-R or DVD-RW. Just put the program you would like to record on the television, add the DVD to the DVD recorder, and then press record.

If you're using Linux, there's programs available for direct transfer of the files to your computer. If you're using another type of software, it'll depend on whether or not you have a decent video card that'll allow a video and audio input, plus some type of video software to go with it. But is it possible? Absolutely! I do it quite often.

To burn an optical DVD disc, one usually first creates an optical disc image with a full file system designed for the optical disc, and then burns the image to the disc. The disc image is a single file, built and stored on the hard drive, which contains the entire information to be contained on the disc.

Many optical disc authoring software applications create the disc image and burn in one bundled operation, so that end-users often do not know the distinction. However, a useful motivation for learning this distinction is that creating the disc image is an "expensive" (time-consuming) process. Most disc writing applications will silently delete this image from the "temporary directory" in which it was built unless users instruct the disc burning application to preserve the image, which can then be used for creating further copies of the same image without the need to rebuild the image each time.

There are also packet-writing applications that do not require writing the entire disc at once, but allow writing parts at a time, allowing the disc to be used in the same way as rewritable media such as a floppy disk.

There exist many optical disc authoring technologies for optimizing the authoring process and preventing errors. Discs writeable only once whose burn failed are colloquially termed coasters.

Some operating systems are aware of disc images as a filesystem type, and can mount these images so that they appear as actual mounted discs. This feature can be useful for testing a disc image after authoring but before writing to the disc media.

You need a DVD recorder, or computer with recordable DVD drive and capture device.

Use the AV outputs on the DVR and connect to the AV inputs on the DVD recorder. Play the program on the DVR and hit record on the DVD recorder, with a DVD-R or RW in the drive.

Record in real time.

The recorded disc will have to be 'finalised' before it can be played on any DVD player.

See the instructions for the DVD recorder to find out how to 'finalise'.

It may be better to use a computer and then apply edits to your completed program, before commiting the disc.

How do you work a DVD recorder?

Similar to a CD burner, a DVD recorder is generally used to record copies of television shows and movies. Using a ""laser technique"", it records these videos onto a blank writable DVD disk. A DVD recorder is generally able to record VHS, DVD+R/+RW and DVD-R/RW. The Recordere always plays VHS, DVD, DVD+r/RW, DVD-R/RW, CD and CD-R/RW formats. Simple to use, you may set a time for burning a TV show or simply press record for imidiate TV/Movie recording, once you've entered a blank writeable DVD into your DVD recorder and begin 'burning'/'recording'.

Can a DVD VCR recorder without a tuner still record tv shows?

I believe that you can use your cable turner or the TV turner to record TV Shows. It all in the setup for RCA style inputs into the DVD/VCR from outputs from the cable box or TV if they are available. You can only record TV shows that are playing on the TV/Cable Box and if they do not have outputs setting up the DVD/VCR to record is not possible. The single channel use prevents you from watching one show and recording another on that TV. This is what I was doing before I got the DVR on my cable box and now I fast forward past all the commercials.

What does a dvd player recorder do?

A dvd player recorder allows you to record television shows at times when you're unable to watch them. You can then choose to watch that show at a later time.
