I have beautiful old white stoneware that the finish has worn off of. Now they show gray marks from eating utensils every time I use them. I have cleaned them all up from the marks and am wondering if it is possible to re-glaze them so that they would be protected from re-marking. I am not interested in changing them, just replacing the protective clear glaze.
There are kits to re-paint tubs at your local hardware stores....Lowes, Home Depot and the such. However, Its difficult to get good results from these kits. We have tried several of these on multiple houses with middle of the road results.

Humidity doesn't causes dishes to smell, it amplifies the smell. Dishes will smell from the bacteria left behind on poorly washed or dirty dishes.
Best to completely remove old glazing and reglaze before you paint for the best look.
