How do you release a 1998 Mercedes Benz E230 wiper blade assembly which was locked in a raised position during car washing?

All you have to do is push the wiper blade assembly back down, it has a pretty strong detent when its in the up position, so dont be scared, just give it a good strong force back down, and it will go.
