How do you release a key stuck in the ignition of a 2005 Saturn Ion?

My Ion would on occasion when I'm parking not allow me to turn the key to the off position, it would get stuck in limbo, engine off, but battery running, and not allow me to remove the key. I have found that if the steering wheel is not straight, this will happen sometimes. But I am not sure this is the cause. If I push the brake down and make sure I have set the shift to "Park" after stopping the car and then trying to turn the key to off, and it still doesn't work, wiggling the steering wheel a little while pushing the brake pedal will release it. Sometimes though this has no affect whatsoever, and it can be very frustrating. I have a 2003 Ion by the way. Just wanted to post an answer, because it is not necessarily a buildup of any shavings off the key in the cylinder since I brought it to the dealership and got that replaced and it STILL does it! Just an annoying thing about this fun car - I forgive it each time I finally get it to off. Love my Ion.

Key stuck in a 2005 Saturn ION ignition is it the battery?
It's not the Battery, Saturn has a problem with there Ignition cylinders. It will need to be replaced. the Dealer charges about $400.00 but you can do it yourself for about $70.00 in parts. The easiest way for you to do it , is get a Manuel or go to youtube.com and watch a video. It took me about thirty minutes.
