I would suggest downloading "Spybot Search and Destroy" (Freeware) and running it. If that does not work you may have to "restore" your harddrive with the factory restore disks. However doing this will completely wipe your harddrive causing a loss of all personal files. to disable system restore in win xp go to start then right click on my computer click propeties then click the sytem restore tab put a check in the box that says turn off sytem restore to all drives. just remember when your done to turn system restore back on ...

You can back up information from your computer onto a flash or jump drive. This will provide faster data recovery if you need to restore information from your computer.
I don't know if this will work for you, but I disabled 'system restore'and then restarted the computer. Once the computer restarted, I enabled 'system restore' again and then ran a virus check. The virus was gone. Hope this works for you.
You can usually perform a factory reset by pressing F8 to get to the restore menu on the computer. This will restore the computer back to factory.
To get rid of that Trojan file turn off System Restore and restart your computer then run another virus scan and it should come up clean. AV programs can't remove virus/virus infected files from System Restore. Don't forget to turn on System Restore again after you do the above. To disable Windows XP System Restore right click on My Computer, click on the System Restore tab and select Turn Off System Restore. Don't forget to turn it back on after doing the above.
Check to see where it is detecting the virus. There are some locations that AVG does not scan typically. This may be the case. I have, in the past, had a virus in the system restore file and AVG does not scan these files by default. The 'fix' was to shut off system restore, restart and then re-enable system restore.
if you are running ME or XP it may well be in one of your restore folders, turn off your system restore and reboot this will remove your restore points and the virus along with it when you reboot scan again ,if all is well, re-enable your system restore.
