I've run into this bug also, in my case I've used the online scanner "Bitdefender" to find and remove it. Perhaps that would work for you as well.
Go here: http://www.bitdefender.com/
1. Click the tab for "Home user" 2. Click "Online scanner" 3. If you have SP2 installed you get a message about an active X control being blocked. You have to click the little banner to allow the active x control to be installed.
Good luck!

Disable your system restore, then reboot your comp, then after it boots back up, enable your system restore again. That will get rid of all of those stored files and settings in the System Volume Info folder..
If you are running XP, and you obviously are, you need to get rid of everything that is stored in the restore folder. First, disable system restore, then reboot your comp with it off, then enable it again. Everything that was saved will be gone and so will the virus. It worked for me and stopped the pop ups saying it was there. I scanned with AVG, MicroTrend Housecall and also the Symantec scan and came up clean!
Double click on the Recycle Bin icon, then Double click on the folder you want to restore, then hit Restore in the box that appears
It means that the Blizzard downloader program has somehow been moved from the Worldofwarcraft folder. If you know where it is, simply drag it back into the folder. If this does not work, backup your Interface, WTF and Cache folders and run the repair utility. It should put the downloader in the proper place and fix the issue.

I suspect that you have System Recovery turned on. You need to turn it off and then boot to safe mode to remove the virus (most of it). Check the Start/Help for how to do this.

This virus resides in the 'restore' directory wich is not easily accesable. That is why the RVP folder in the programs directory can not just be wiped, it is in use in the 'restore' directory. What to do? Right click on 'my computer', go to properties then to 'restore' and put the restore off. Boot your PC. Run virus test and now the RVP virus can be removed. The PVP folder in programs can also now be deleted. Use AVG anti-virus, which is free, and do a scan. It will find and get rid of it. Also use Spybot afterwards as there maybe some parts of it still on your PC. I have done all the above exactly as written and I still can't detect the virus with AVG. It is still detected by spybot but I can't remove it. Spybot asks to run at next boot in order to remove it from memory so it can be removed. That does not work.I have turned off my system restore, re-booted, ran updated avg. Avg does not detect rvp. I can locate RVP in the registry but can't delete it. Even when I do a defrag a message appears that this Trojan is present. Informs that I need to run AVG to get rid of it. Avg doesn't locate it. Any help... Thank you Just go to trojanscan.com and scan PC. And if it says denied of deleting it. Just go to start up menu and system info. and click it out
