hi. ^__^
well, my mom accidentally got that on her computer. ( aaah! ;__; ) i used the program AVG Free to get it off. ( it's an anti-virus program by the company "Grisoft". it comes highly recommended. )
first, right-click on internet Explorer and delete your cookies, temporary internet files, and history. then, go to: download.com and download the program. go through the setup steps, and run it. ( DON'T make a restore disk yet! it WILL have the downloader in the file if you do, so if you ever use it, you'll be reloading the Trojan on your computer! ) after you've run AVG Free once, it'll show you all the files that have the downloader in them. don't bother healing the files. just delete them. restart your computer.
if you see that the "virus vault" (scroll down through the options; virus vault is at the bottom) has items in it, click once on the box that says "virus vault" and hit the button down at the bottom of the AVG screen to delete the items inside. now, run the virus scan again. this time, just in case the Trojan made its way into a restore file or you didn't delete all the files the first time, I'll take care of that. you should be fine at that point.
remember, to keep your computer healthy, use AVG Free at least once a week. also, try using either/both "Spybot: Search and Destroy" and "Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition". these programs rid your computer of spyware/adware/assorted malware. (do not use in conjunction with the pay-program "Spy Sweeper", though. they don't work well together, as I've found.) also, if you are a more advanced user, i'd suggest the program "Hijack This!". it checks the BHO's and running processes of your computer for hijackers; use the site http://hijackthis.de/index.php to translate that list of crap it'll give you. (copy and paste the logfile hijack this will save into that box and hit "analyze". it'll tell you what's good and what's bad and what needs to be updated." keep your computer running fast by using Disk Defragmenter (a windows utility) twice a month.
happy hunting, and good luck! ^_____^!!
